iStriker: Rescue & Combat App Reviews

Graphics: Great 3D units and terrain, some with articulated parts. Decent visual style. Nice explosions and effects. Sound: Decent. Sound effects are appropriate, and sound like a lot of other shooters out there. Controls: Awkward, but workable with practice. Relative touch controls that have been slightly accelerated work ok, the awkward parts are in the extra features. Landing and taking off require a swipe down and up (respectively), but only on the top half of the screen. Your laser is activated with a swipe up in the bottom half. Bombs with a double tap. It would be really nice to have the option for buttons to control these, as swiping sometimes gets in the way of the core gameplay of dodging bullets. Gameplay: Well designed shmup, with some interesting additional features. Your fuel constantly runs out, but can be replenished (along with weapon upgrade, bombs, and health) by landing and allowing civilians to climb on board. You also have a rechargeable laser, and its necessary to make liberal use of it for both scoring and survival. Content: 6 levels, which is pretty standard for a shooter of this type. Each is of a good length, and well designed with lots of variety. Game Center leaderboards and achievements are present. Conclusion: 3.5/5 A decent shooter, with some interesting additions, but the controls and steep difficulty (even on easy) make it inaccessible to many. *If you add buttons for the extra controls, please make an option to place them on either the left or right (for left handed players)

AirAttack HD is a lot better. Graphics dont look too great.

This has got to be one of the hardest fly-shooters made for iPhone. So hard they came out with a "novice" setting that is still next to impossible.

The game is designed to scare players away. Wish you like "in app purchase" a lot. The game experience then will be like "bomb bomb bomb ..." and you win.

As far as indie neoclassical shooter devs go, C2Matrix may be my favorite. They are great when it comes to enemy and bullet patterns, and there is always a nice twist to the gameplay. You are given a recharging laser blast and guns that increase in power with your combo count. The best addition are the men on the ground that you rescue, "Choplifter"-style. Finding the right time to land without taking hits brings in a fantastic new layer of strategy heretofore absent from the vertical shooter genre. Very nice. This title REALLY is for hardcore gamers only. Luxuries such as credits are not provided, meaning you probably wont finish the game. Levels can be replayed once theyve been beaten in the regular mode, which is nearly pointless seeing as there are no individual stage leaderboards. Without the ability to continue or select stages from which to start, most players will give up from frustration. Its a shame, as the design, mechanics, and scoring are top-notch.

Can I assume, based on no further info, that this is will not work on older model iPhones? Splash screen shows then nothing but a flickering screen. Might have put some reference to suitable hardware. Shame. Looked interesting. Could have bought a quart if gas instead.

So yeah i got this thinking that it was gonna be like a pc game that i played before... so i bought it... went to go play it and it doesnt work... so if yall could fix this problem so that it actually runs on 2nd gen devices with 4.2.1 software such as mine... that would be great... untill then i will leave my rating at one star.

The game is fun and fast paced and brings a real challenge that will at least slightly impress most gamers. The price is a big bonus:)

This is a pretty sweet game. It reminds me of those old shooters. Its really fun to pick up and play. Little challenging

I once played this on PC and was so fun! Quick player fun Game!

Game will not work on earlier iPhones! Would be nice if you could fix this problem since there is no mention of it! Until then I will leave it at one star!

Having to pick up the dudes off ground is terrible

Does not progress beyond initial splash screen on 2nd gen touch. Very disappointing! A waste of a buck!

It looks cool in the display window of iTunes. but after spending the non-refundable .99¢ the game doesnt work. The C2 logo comes on and after that it is all flashing frames. I was hoping for a cute little game to play but ended up buying a flashing display app that makes helicopter noises. Obviously I cant recommend it for iPod Touch users. Maybe it works on iPhone or iPad but sadly no-worky in iPod Touch land.

App doesnt open and there is no help at their website. Dont waste your money.

Already beat last level and got all weapon upgrades. Want more! Keep up the great work.

This is the first bad review I have written. Play control is terrible. Played on easy 10 times cant even beat first level. You have to swipe at the top of the screen for some functions while you are suppose to be dodging at the bottom, terrible usability. Cant belive they sucked a dollar from me.
